After extensive travels Simon Bruenner studied industrial engineering for several semesters. With this technical and economic knowledge and on the basis of varied inspirations gained wile travelling through several continents, be began his design studies. Already hatching out the idea for a long time, he built the first prototype of Scintilla in his second term. An invitation to the Salone in Milan followed and the label "neuesLicht" was born. Since this time he realizes further drafts, true to the guideline: "desing light, not lamps"

He received the Newcomer 2008 Award by Elle Decoration Germany.
